MOON TOWNSHIP - Jocelyn Floyd scored 14 points and Wumi Agunbiade added 13 and Orsi Szecsi 11 as the Duquesne women's basketball team improved to 6-1 on the season after its 61-47 victory over cross-town rival Robert Morris on Sunday afternoon.
Artemis Spanou recorded game-highs 15 points and 12 rebounds for RMU who fell to 0-7 on the season.
The Dukes opened up the game scoring the first seven points and by the 10:38 mark of the first half had built a 19-10 lead after Floyd `s 3-pointer. Duquesne would see 11 point leads twice - 29-18 after an Oditte Odisho 3-pointer at 5:39 and 43-23 after a pair of Orsi Szecsi foul shots to close out the first half scoring.
In the second half, RMU would get within seven points five times, the last at 6:46, but would get no closer. A 3-pointer by Spanou with 3:39 left made the score 55-47, but Robert Morris would not score the rest of the game.
The Dukes return home for the Second Annual Education Day on Dec. 5th. Tipoff time is at 11:00 a.m.
